How to clean glass doors and Windows?

1- Dusting the glass:
With a soft dusting cloth wipe down the glass frame to remove any dirt and dust. Before using any liquid solution, it’s important to do dusting, as it can cause the dust to stick to the surface. if you didn’t wiped dust away with a cloth, before you do a wet clean, you will end up with muddy streaks or dirty lines on the glass.

2- Cleaning the frame and sill:
Clean the frames and sills by using cotton swab or soft toothbrush to clear dirt and debris from those areas. If you find any mildew spot on frames or sill, you can easily clean it by making a solution of laundry detergent and water, sponge the solution on the spot and rub it gently, then let it sit for few minutes, and then rinse with clean water and wipe it off with a clean cloth.

3- Prepare a cleaning solution:
Prepare your own homemade glass cleaner by using vinegar and water. Fill a spray bottle with equal amount of water and vinegar, then use it as any glass cleaner, but shake it well before using. This solution effectively removes fingerprints, grime and doesn’t leave any streaks.

4- Spray the solution and clean:
Before spraying the glass surface with any liquid solution, cover the sill with any absorbent cloth for protection. Then spray the vinegar solution on glass surface directly and gently rub the glass with a rug to remove all the spots and for stubborn marks and grime, you have to rub it more.

5- Squeegee:
Now clean off the glass with the squeegee. Start at the top and your way down the window. Repeat again and again until you have covered the whole surface.

6- Wiper the surface of glass:
Wipe the surface quickly by using a dry and soft Micro-fiber cloth. This is great for getting rid of marks anywhere on the glass. Make sure to wipe in one direction only, and try to do it quickly to prevent streaks. Now use towel to wipe up any water spilt onto the window sill and the floor.

Additional Tips:
– Before cleaning any type of glass, ensure the surface is cool, if you attempt to clean hot glass, you’re more likely to get streaks or a haze.
– Do not use paper towels, which will leave streaks.
– Do not rub too hard, it may cause scratches.
– Clean your glass windows and doors thoroughly, on the inside as well as outside, every few weeks or at least once a month.
– If you want streak-free Windows, use newspaper instead of paper towels to clean glass.
