5 Ways to Naturally Clean Your Oven
1. Lemon:
Lemon slices are very effective in removing odours and bacteria. Therefore, they can also be very useful in cleaning the oven. To clean your oven with lemons, squeeze the juice of two lemons onto the oven surface. Then put the lemon skin into an oven proof dish and place them inside the oven. Set the temperature to 80°C for about 30 minutes. This will remove scale deposits from the oven and will also leave your oven smelling nice.
2. Salt:
One always has salt lying around in their kitchen and it serves as a perfect tool for oven cleaning. Mix 250g of salt in ½ liter of water and apply this onto the scale and burnt bits in the oven. Leave this for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with a damp cloth.
3. Vinegar:
Vinegar works as an excellent degreaser and disinfectant. To use vinegar to clean your oven, heat a glass of vinegar in a pot of water. When the solution begins to bubble, move the pot inside the oven. Heat the oven up to 100°C and leave the mixture in their for 15 minutes. After this, remove the pot and clean your oven with a sponge. The food and grease that has collected on the oven racks will come of easily and leaving the oven door open will get rid of the smell.
4. Bicarbonate Soda and Salt:
Bicarbonate soda is a must have ingredient for those looking to clean with natural ingredients. To clean the oven with this, prepare a mixture of salt, baking soda and water and sprinkle it onto the walls of the oven. Leave the mixture to soak for an hour and then use a sponge to mop it up.
5. Bicarbonate Soda and Vinegar:
To degrease your oven more thoroughly use vinegar with bicarbonate soda. Spray a mixture of white wine vinegar and bicarbonate soda on the walls and let it sit for half an hour. Then remove the dirt with a sponge and warm water.
