Deep Clean Your Kitchen
Cleaning is a nightmare on its own but there is one other thing more horrifying than that; deep cleaning . Even if you have a maid service or you do the cleaning without professional help, deep cleaning is a must during every seasonal change. Today we are going to help you through the steps for deep cleaning your kitchen. Don’t be overwhelmed by the list. Organise well, be determined and follow the checklist.
Clutter: Your kitchen probably has clutter like the rest of the house. Before you start cleaning take everything that doesn’t belong in the kitchen out. Empty the sink and remove the dirty dishes if any. Clear everything off of the counters. Take everything out of the cabinets. Keep things only if you are going to use them. Avoid keeping unnecessary items to maintain a tidy kitchen. This will also help you in the future to decrease the time and effort you spend cleaning.
Light fixtures: Light fixtures are one of the most neglected places in houses. Wipe down all light fixtures with water and white vinegar.
Top of the cabinets: If your cabinets don’t go all the way up to the ceiling then you should give them a good cleaning. If you have items on top of the cabinets remove them. Use a handheld vacuum to remove all the dirt and dust. Use an all-purpose cleaner and wipe down the top of the cabinet. Dust every item and put them back. Check to see how you can make a 100% non-chemical all-purpose cleaner.
Windows: Take the nets down and give them a good wash in the backyard or in the bathtub. If you are using blinds wipe them with an old sock. If you have curtains toss them in the washing machine. Use a combination of white vinegar and water to clean your windows. The old newspaper is the best tool to wipe down the windows. Don’t forget to clean the window tracks.
Surface cleaning: After removing all the unnecessary items from the counter wipe it down with your all-purpose cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Wipe down all the doors, knobs, light switches, wall etc. Dust and put only necessary items back on the counter.
Sink: Clean your sink with the help of white vinegar and water. Use a brush to scrub the sink. Use your all purpose cleaner to shine your faucet. If you have a garbage disposal give it a good fresh cleaning. You can check this post to see how to make freshening ice cubes for garbage disposal cleaning.
Appliances: Move out appliances so you can vacuum and mop behind them. To keep them shiny for longer time mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1/4 cup of lemon juice and 3 tablespoons borax. Add enough club soda to make a thick paste. Rub the paste onto your stainless steel appliances. Wipe it off with another wet cloth and finish it with a damp microfiber cloth.
Floor: Every floor has its own way to be cleaned. Make sure of you are using the right product to clean it. You can find more information here . Sweep or vacuum the floor and mop it as needed.
Voila! You made it till the end of the list. Now you can enjoy your beautiful and clean kitchen! Make this cleanness last longer; now for regular .
